CDN Roof Dr. can supply all of your off-grid solar needs, for both new builds as well as existing structures. We streamline the process and manage every detail from conception, to design, installation and everything in between. Our solar systems are custom designed based upon your needs, budget, and schedule. Our exceptional team manages any permits and applications needed for your project.
Unlike grid-tied solar PV systems, which rely on hydro resources to power your residence or commercial property when your system is not generating electricity, an off-grid solar PV system works completely independent of the utility grid. These systems are designed to generate enough electricity to meet a property’s energy consumption, or to reduce reliance on generators powered by fossil fuels.
Create your own power! Never rely on the grid again!
A CDN Roof Dr. solar PV system on your off-grid property can help you become completely self-sustaining and ensure you made the right choice by going off-grid.
A CDN Roof Dr. solar PV system on your off-grid property can help you become completely self-sustaining and eliminate any reliance on the utility grid.

An off-grid solar PV system creates electricity using the power of the sun and feeds alternating current electricity directly into your structure when required, as well as feeding direct current electricity into backup batteries for later use when the solar PV system is no longer generating energy.
Off-grid systems are ideal for remote locations and sites with low energy consumption and can be mounted on the roof of the structure or the ground
CDN Roof Dr. designs Off-grid solar PV systems to utilize a backup generator. In the instance your solar PV system is not generating enough energy to power your off-grid structure, nor is the battery backup, a generator can be used to supply electricity to your structure.

The Great Canadian Roof Dr. solar installations include lifetime system monitoring. This monitoring will show you real-time power production of your system – right down to each individual solar module. Monitoring can be access through your smart-phone, tablet, or computer. You can track power production down to a 5 minute cycle.
Solar panel cells absorb the sun’s energy in the form of photons and then converts them into electrons, taking the form of DC (direct current) electricity. A solar cell, or PV (photovoltaic) cell is made up of 2 types of silicon that promote positive and negative electrical charges that are surrounded by conducting metals which transfer the electrons. The panel is topped with extremely durable tempered glass allows light in while protecting the PV cell from damage.
A backup generator is also implemented in your Off-grid solar PV system. In the instance your solar PV system is not generating enough energy to power your off-grid structure, nor is the battery backup, a generator can be used to create electricity. A backup generator utilizes a small combustion engine to create DC current that is fed directly to the inverter.
Before DC electricity can be sent to the electrical panel it must be converted into AC (alternating current). AC power is used to supply electricity to all connected properties. In order to convert DC power from the solar PV cell, backup battery or backup generator into AC power that can be used, the electrical current must pass through an inverter. This is the final step before power can be transferred into your off-grid structure for use.
Once the inverter converts the power to AC, it can then be sent to the electrical panel. An electrical panel is a component of the electricity supply system that divides electrical power into subsidiary circuits that power appliances, lights, receptacles, etc. throughout the off-grid structure.
